Authentic Tibetan Buddhist Gifts and Dharma ObjectsOur Spontaneous Open Air Art Spaces
At Dzokden Kalapa we are always in process of creating sacred art projects. Our art journey started with the transformation of the Kalachakra temple. To create the shrine area for the Kalachakra statue that Khentrul Rinpoche envisioned we had to learn to paint traditional elements in a detailed way. Our Kalapa resident staff, Lhundrop Wangmo, led us in the effort and in the process found a passion for traditional Thangka art. We are fortunate that she is now currently enrolled in Thangka art painting school in Nepal several months of the year and can bring back her learnings to Kalapa.
If you are an artist and would like to get involved in creating a traditional Buddhist art studio, workshops or projects at Kalapa, please reach out to share your skills with our community.
Khentrul Rinpoche has instructed us to take on sacred art projects including repainting the stupa, painting a large Tibetan ceiling mural, and small stupas. Our spontaneous art studio can use a variety of traditional and modern techniques to produce a diverse range of sacred Buddhist art forms in the future including:
Paint Buddhist Murals and Thangkas
Kalachakra Peace Stupa Restoration
Paint Miniature Kalachakra Peace Stupas
Create and Decorated Tsa Tsas
Prayer Wheels
Build Sacred Objects such as a Traditional Sang Burner
Mantra Rolling
Art classes and workshops
