Yamantaka MANDALA
As the Destroyer of Death, Yamantaka is also known as Vajrabhairava. Often shown with a head like that of a water buffalo, Yamantaka is surrounded by a wheel of sharp weapons to cut the root of self-cherishing and pacify all obstructions. Appearing as a wrathful aspect of Manjushri, the invicible wisdom and compassion of all the Buddhas arises in a form inducing sublime terror to liberate sentient beings from samsara by terminating the cyclical processes of time and death. Because liberation is beyond all conceptuality or dualistic experience, his mandala invites us to train our minds by arousing bodhicitta to harness profound negative emotions and transform them into the authentic path. Yamantaka practice is widely known as being very powerful for overcoming karmic obstacles, especially the violence of fear, anger, and hatred.
